Molly, you entered our lives as a foster which lasted less than an hour. You were the rock your sister needed and the baby jelly to her peanut butter. You are missed beyond words and will forever be in our hearts. With all our love.
Forever in our thoughts and hearts.
Roger, Susan, Jessica
Gamma originally was raised to be a guide dog, but her rambunctious personality and incredible food drive eliminated her from that position. In July 2007 it was that food drive that enabled her to become part of our lives through the ATF Explosives Detection Canine Program. As you know Gamma had quite the quirky personality and if you had a treat she was your best friend.......for 2 seconds, and then it was off to the next potential victim. During her 6 years of service to the government we traveled approximately 250,000 miles by air and auto and I spent upwards of 100 weeks in hotels with her, so needless to say we were very close. Gamma worked protection details that included US presidents, senators, Supreme Court justices, and all other members of the federal judiciary. She also worked national security events including the NCAA Football National Championship, the 2008 NFL Super Bowl and the 2008 Democratic National Convention.
She was diagnosed in 2012 with an auto-immune disease which could only be treated, not cured. As time went on the meds became less effective at keeping the disease at bay. Recently, her condition deteriorated rapidly and the decision as made to euthanize her to prevent further suffering. She died peacefully in my arms. Gamma was my partner and friend and I will miss her dearly.
