Nola
Nola was dying at the county shelter...literally. She had most likely been hit by a car and was in her kennel twitching on the ground in pain. We had to step in even if it was just to put her out of her misery. She had a broken back and severely stretched spinal cord. After multiple, complex surgeries Nola is on the road to recovery but it is a long one. She has some very limited use of her back legs but cannot fully stand or walk. She still has a lot of hardware in her back holding her spine together. But she is a fighter and we know she will have quality of life in her future. She remains at our vet on crate rest while we let her back heal. Once she is ready we'll begin physical therapy and get her a cart to help her walk again.
